The songs that speak to me the most are usually songs that in my opinion don’t get the attention they deserve.”Light up, light up as if you have a choice even if you cannot hear my voice I’ll be right beside you dear”.I am almost certain RUN by Snow Patrol is not intended for the Christian masses but I sing it feeling affirmed that God is speaking to me because like the lyrics say ”even if you cannot hear my voice I’ll be right beside you dear.” what more proof do I need that he is talking to me.

Over and over again I say to myself even if I cannot hear his voice he is right beside me and to reassure me even more, he uses the term of endearment dear(Insert Bae or boo or whatever will give you a little flutter in your belly if the one you desire says it)

Just knowing someone is there and we are wanted is what so many of us need or rather want.Do you ever feel alone, unloved, undesired, misunderstood? Almost like an alien in the midst of gorgeous, talented, accepted people. Believe I have felt like the former most of my life.Like an outcast in every way.Having friends that I see as friends but being seen as an acquaintance. No looks to stop anyone in their tracks.Mundane.Like Princess Mia in The Princess Diaries except I am not secretly a royal and no makeover will ever happen.

Well well, my darling you are the exact opposite of these detestable thoughts you choose to deceive yourself with. You don’t have to listen to me. What do I know about your feelings? You can instead listen to the one who made you and knows those feeling before you even feel them. The master puppeteer of us all. Romans 8;38-39.”For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”NIV

There is no end to his love. There are no requirements. He loves you as you are.All that you dislike about yourself he loves. There is no taking a break or silent treatment or breakup. There is no malice, body shaming, verbal or physical abuse with God.There is only love. The days that you lie in bed and feel undesired and unloved and overlooked by family, friends, women, guys, employers the people who control the status quo.God is right there beside you telling you to lighten up.He must think we are silly sometimes don’t you think. That we forget to see ourselves the way he sees us when with all due respect his opinion matters the most.Sit down today and picture the person you admire the most. How much you would love to be admired by someone else in that light. That is a fraction of how you are viewed by God.You are loved by him with no reservation. It’s about time you also begin to love yourself with no reservation.

The Wait

Waiting.Just patiently standing, sitting, hoping or dreaming is one of the hardest parts of life for me.Waiting for food to arrive on super hungry days, waiting for results to an exam, waiting to hear a surgery was successful, waiting for a call back after an audition or interview or even just waiting for God to bring to fruition all that he has promised.

So many of us lose ourselves in the process of waiting. The echoes of discouragement and the whispers of doubt are loudest in such moments.I waited 10 months to leave for college and those were tough days for me.Now that years have gone by I laugh at how downcast I felt and feel a twinge of regret at how I spent those days.Jacob waited 14 years to marry Rachel. That’s an awfully long amount of time to be engaged or even date someone.I am sure so many friends told him to forget about her and suggested other available girls to him but he waited nonetheless.Waiting is not a sentence to failure. It simply is a brief pause before the next step.Possibly a new beginning.

The big break you have been waiting for is right around the corner. There are never too many lawyers, doctors, engineers, musicians, designers or whatever it is you envision yourself doing that many consider being a crowded scene or too vacant for success. All the people doing the same thing as you may be great at it but they will never be you.Your ideas are one of a kind.Your creativity and attention to detail have never been seen before.Comparison is the greatest thief of joy.The Sun and the moon both Shine just at different times.Don’t you ever forget. The waiting period is a time for betterment and joyful anxiety on things to come. It’s also a time for rebranding.

What is it that you are waiting for?Be honest with yourself.God is seeing your thoughts:)Is it a job?A promotion?A letter of admission?A child?A relationship?A clean slate of health, affirmation of popularity or maybe you’re like a million other people just waiting for what they can’t quite put into words.A better life, confidence, love, respect, forgiveness.

It doesn’t really matter what it is you’re waiting for.All that matters is what you’re doing while you wait. Are you bitter and angry or expectant and preparing for the good days to come.Do you thank God in advance for all that is ahead and bless him for all you have now or you remind him of how deserving you think you are of what you are waiting for.

The truth is we are all in the waiting process.Life on this Earth is a pause before we get to heaven.Don’t get caught up in the happenings as we wait and miss the light we all must enter.Make the most of your time as you wait.Time is of the essence and very fleeting. Grow through your struggle.Be the best you can be.Improve. Upgrade yourself. You never know you may be exactly what someone is waiting for.
